Welcome to The Manassas Journal

A Letter to Our Readers

Welcome to  The Manassas Journal.

We’re glad you’re here.

For generations, the hometown newspaper was part of the fabric of Manassas. It kept us informed, celebrated our schools and businesses, recognized our neighbors, and recorded the everyday history of our community.

When that newspaper disappeared, something important disappeared with it. Local news didn’t go away, but it became harder to find. City decisions, school news, community events, local achievements, and neighborhood stories are still happening every week.

We hope The Manassas Journal can help fill that gap.

We’re excited to introduce the hometown newspaper dedicated to keeping our community informed, connected, and engaged.

Our mission is simple: explain what’s happening in Manassas, why it matters, and where you can learn more.

Each Sunday, we’ll bring you straightforward local reporting in plain language. Whenever possible, we’ll link directly to agendas, meeting minutes, public documents, and other original sources.

What You’ll Find Every Sunday

Our major stories will answer five basic questions:

Why does this matter?

What happened?

What are the key facts and numbers?

What’s next?

Where can I learn more?

We’ll also celebrate the people, businesses, schools, organizations, and traditions that make Manassas home.

This is Volume 1, Issue 1, and we’re just getting started.

Thank you for reading. We hope The Manassas Journal becomes part of your Sunday routine.
